my story

I was overjoyed to get pregnant after trying for a couple of years, and life could not have got any better. I was so focused on getting everything so perfect for this bundle of joy . I was a low risk normal pregnancy and everything was going along smoothly. I found out at 16 weeks I was having a baby girl, just perfect! At around 25 weeks I started to get very swollen. My midwife was concerned but everything seemed okay with the baby . So I carried on going to work as normal. The swelling started to become extreme so I went to Maternity Assessment Unit. I was monitored and then sent home reassured everything was fine and normal for 31 weeks . Theworst day of my life happened a few weeks later at my 34 week midwife appointment. The midwife was very shocked at my swelling and the fact the Maternity Assessment Unit had not kept me in. Upon checking my blood pressure she looked concerned, and checked for the babies heartbeat. I started to get very anxious as she couldn’t find it. My heart sunk. I could tell something wasn’t right. We were blue lighted to hospital, where I was scanned and confirmed that my precious baby girl had passed away. I was admitted to critical carebecause the pre eclampsia was so severe, I was very poorly. I was induced which took two long exhausting days and I gavebirth to my baby angel Coral Rose Pearl. She was the most perfect baby I had ever seen, dark hair, blue eyes and rosebud lips. I spent some precious time with her before letting her go, I was so ready to be a Mummy and I was going home with empty arms to a house filled with baby things. My life has never been the same since, I suffer from PTSD, anxiety, depression and struggle to lead a normal life. I would just like to try and make people aware of how serious pre eclampsia is and the affect it can have on you and your baby. If you feel something is wrong, you must keep on at the hospital to try and prevent things like this from becoming a reality . If you have taken your time to read this I would like to thank you for reading my story. If I can help as many pregnant women as I can it would mean the world to me. I have set up a go fund me because I would like to set a small memorial gardenfor Coral Rose Pearl where I will be able to go to grieve, plant lovely flowers and place things in memory of her.

All my love, Sasha
