The world is a little less bright these days. On Sunday, September 1, 2019, Matthew Senatore, a lifelong Fairfield, CT resident died suddenly and entirely too soon.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Matt, you know his life was all about his beautiful daughters, Mia (15), Emma (13), and Reese (10). He was the ultimate Cheer Dad, Gymnastics Dad, and Soccer Dad, his Jeep Wrangler loaded with a weekend’s worth of gear at all times. Rumor has it, he could pull together a mean ponytail.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Matt, you know his smile could light up a room. He had a wicked sense of humor and told way too many Dad jokes. To get a laugh out of Matt, to see that smile that reached his eyes, was to see a little bit of heaven.
To know Matt was to know his love for his “3 little birds,” the Yankees, the Jets, UConn, The Dave Matthews Band, Game of Thrones, and his rescue pup, Carter. Matt’s “Top 10” lists are as legendary as his bi-weekly poker game that has been running for 15 years. He thrived in his career at SiriusDecisions (now Forrester); who else could connect B2B/ABM relationships with GOT?
If you had the pleasure of knowing Matt, you also know he would give the shirt off his back to help a friend. He was a cancer survivor, and served on the board of the Susan Fund to help other juvenile cancer survivors continue their education through scholarships. When asked what it was like to have cancer at an early age, Matt said, “Having experienced a life-threatening illness at an early age, shaped my perspective on life and helps me focus on the important things.”
Here we are at the important things. Life was cruelly interrupted for the girls and their mom, Daina. We are all reeling from the loss of this funny, clever, and talented man. So, we created a GoFundMe campaign to help offset the day-to-day expenses, knowing Matt would do the same for any of us.
We are asking for anyone who knew Matt to donate any amount you can. Events like this can bring out the best in people, so let’s show the Senatore Girls all the love and support we can through this fundraiser.
