Eagle Project for Humane Society

My name is Matthew Lonam and I am currently a Life Scout in Troop 1131 located in Burke, Virginia. I started this fundraiser to gain funds for a service project which will help me reach Eagle Rank in the Boy Scouts of America. This projec will benefit a local no kill animal shelter run by the Humane Society of Fairfax County located in Centreville, Virginia. The shelter is an 18 acre facility that provides housing for dogs and horses up for adoption. I will be planting trees to add shade to the exercise fields and outdoor dog enclosures. These funds will be used towards the purchase of trees, ornamental shrubs, mulch, soil condtioner, tree stakes, water bags, as well as various other materials necessary to make sure the trees grow healthily.  I plan to commence this project by August 31st 2015.
