Matanos LEvyonim for Torah Scholars
Donation protected
ALL DONATIONS THAT ARE GIVEN AFTER PURIM WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILIES AS "MA'OS CHITIM" FOR PESACH
PURIM IS ALMOST HERE!
We are all busy preparing our "Mishloach Manos" and planning our "Purim Seudos", and rightfully so. We are choosing that perfect costume and of course reviewing the relevant Halachos of Purim.
But are we giving enough thought to "Matanos L'Evyonim"? Are we sufficiently addressing the needs of the many downtrodden, less fortunate and struggling brethren amongst us?
The Rambam (Hilchos Megilah Perek 2:17) writes:
"It is better for one to give additional "Matanos L'Evyonim" rather than to embellish their Purim Seudah and/or give additional Mishloach Manos to their friends, as there is no greater and more glorious Simcha than to gladden the hearts of the less fortunate poor people, orphans, widows and converts. One who lifts the spirits and gladdens the hearts of these less fortunate individuals, is likened to the Shechina!"
The Shulchan Aruch (Yoreh Deah Siman 251:9) rules:
"When it comes to Tzedaka, supporting poor Talmidei Chachamim, Torah scholars, takes precedence over other similarly poor people."
Talmidei Chachamim via their Torah study are sustaining the world and speeding up the arrival of Mashiach Tzidkeinu!
On that note, as I have been doing for the past eight years, biannually, during the Yomim Noraim and before Purim, I appeal to my dear readers to join me in the great Mitzvah of raising money for two Talmidei Chachamim and their families who are in desperate need of our financial assistance.
THEY ARE IN A "SAD" STATE!
I know these families personally and can attest to their integrity as well as to their dire need of assistance. They live meager lifestyles void of any luxury, and are lacking many things that we would consider necessities; they literally struggle to make ends meet.
The monies will be distributed to both families on Purim day, and will thus be a true fulfillment of the Mitzvah of "Matanos L'Evyonim"
HELP TRANSFORM THEM INTO A "HAPPY" STATE

Past appeals that we made were Baruch Hashem successful. With your help, this year's Purim appeal will be the most successful yet.
In the merit of your participation in this great Mitzvah may Hashem shower you and your families with endless Bracha and Hatzlacha and may Hashem answer all of your Tefilos on Purim day and every day.
With Torah blessings,
Your friend, Ben Olam Haba
