Help Marin County Tango Find a New Home

On December 5, the Marin County (Bay Area) Tango community received news that the beloved space for the Sunday Marin Matinee Milongas and 4th Friday Milongas at 167 Tunstead Ave in San Anselmo will no longer host Tango events starting January 1, 2025. Aside from the Milongas, the space was also hosting several Argentine Tango teachers who now will not have a platform to offer their classes

With this sudden change, we ask the community for their help in finding a new home for Tango in Marin County! No amount is too small. As you know, venue rents are not cheap. Alma del Tango's Debbis and John did a service to our community by offering their space at rates which encouraged artists to focus on building their brand. However, many venues are profit-focused and offer their services to all types of activities including dance.

The funds will be used for: rental rates in transitional spaces until a good permanent space is found, rental deposits, insurance, new tables, sound equipment, hiring important and influential guest teachers and musicians, promotional materials, etc.
