Help Fund Swim Scholarships for Kids With Disabilities
Why it matters
Drowning is a leading cause of accidental child death, yet preventive lessons are rarely covered by insurance. Many autistic children are drawn to water and face sensory and communication barriers in traditional classes, making adapted instruction essential.
About the Footprints Program at Dad’s Club
Sensory‑aware, individualized teaching within a standard learn‑to‑swim curriculum.
Progress at each participant’s pace; safety and trust first.
Currently 8 participants; ages 4–19 (mostly autistic; others include Down syndrome and physical disabilities).
Why we’re fundraising
Scholarship funds are limited to small grants and a memorial fund. A dedicated Footprints Scholarship Fund will remove cost barriers and support referred students from the Houston area, including help with transportation and basic gear.
