Magnificat Funds in Honour of Rebecca Clarey

Donation protected
Deciding what we should call the fund set up in Rebecca's honour, was made a little easier when we came across the word Magnificat.

Welcome to the Magnificat Fund!

In Latin, Magnificat means, ‘my soul magnifies the Lord' and is taken from the Gospel of Luke and is the name of the hymn spoken by Mary when she is visited by her cousin, Elizabeth. It is, perhaps, the most ancient of Christian hymns and the earliest Marian hymn within the whole of Christianity.

Rebecca celebrated her faith through music, both in and out of school and she found great strength from her love and devotion to Mary. It is because of this that it seems only fitting that this fund be named after one of her favourite hymns of praise.

The Magnificat Fund will endeavour to magnify Rebecca's legacy by ensuring the Salesian community will continue to be blessed by her love of music. Rebecca sought to teach and inspire all of her students so any donations received will go towards supporting the continued great work in the music department and our most vulnerable students so they continue to be enriched by music.
