Hi! We are Students from El Roble Intermediate School raising money for House of Ruth through our MYP Community Service Project.
We have chosen to support House of Ruth as we believe in their mission to assist families victimized by domestic violence.
With these funds we will build and provide toiletry kits for families fleeing from domestic violence. Our goal is to create a sense of security for these families and ensure that they are given the things they need to feel safe and refreshed.
Some information on MYP:
At El Roble Intermediate, all MYP 8th-grade students participate in the MYP Community Project, a meaningful, student-led service-learning experience. This project provides an opportunity for students to explore a cause they are passionate about and make a positive impact on their community. As the culminating project of their MYP journey, it reflects the commitment to service a global citizenship they have developed throughout middle school.
The purpose of the 8th-grade MYP Community Service Project is to empower students to engage with their local or global communities through meaningful service, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy. It allows students to apply the skills and knowledge they've gained in the MYP to real-world situations, addressing genuine needs and reflecting on their impact.
