MN Jewish Teens to March in DC

Donation protected
The events at Parkland—yet another in a long line of school shootings—have left America's youth feeling uneasy, unsafe, and unheard. They have been repeatedly told that their voices—their lives—matter less than everyone else's "right" to own military-grade weapons. And they've had enough.

On March 24th, Student organizers in cooperation with the nonprofit Everytown for Gun Safety will hold the March For Our Lives. Teens from across the country will rally together and march on D.C., demanding to be heard.

As Jews, we are driven to attend this march and fight for this cause by פיקוח נפש (Pikuach Nefesh): Saving a Life, the highest Mitzvah of all. We are commanded to protect and save lives, and so we march. Even on the Sabbath, our holy day of rest.

We're sending a delegation of Minnesota Jewish teens—including representatives from Adath Jeshurun, Bet Shalom, Beth El, Beth Jacob, Darchei Noam, Mt. Zion, Shir Tikvah, Temple Israel, Temple of Aaron, regional NFTY and USY, and more—to this historic event. We're well on our way, but we need your help to get us there.

We currently have enough money for one bus, with the capacity for 50 people—which will have to include adult chaperones and organizers. We already have more than enough teens signed up to fill this bus. If we reach our $9000 goal, we'll be able to afford a second bus and we won't have to turn anybody away.
