Three funerals. Hundreds of care home visits. Thousands of lives touched. One remarkable herd.

This isn’t just our story.

It’s the story of every child who found courage, every resident who smiled again, every family who found comfort, and every life changed by 13 extraordinary equines.

Now, we’re asking you to help write the next chapter.

13 Equines. Thousands of Lives Touched. One Dream.

Behind every gentle nuzzle, every tiny hoofprint and every quiet moment of comfort lies a story.

Lunar Eclipse EFL Therapy Horses CIC is a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation caring for a remarkable herd of 13 equines… nine miniature horses, two donkeys and two larger horses, each one changing lives in their own unique way.

Together they bring hope to children, comfort to families, companionship to residents living in care homes and support to those facing some of life’s greatest challenges. Through Equine Facilitated Learning, care home visits and hospice work, they create connections that words alone could never achieve.

Our horses are no longer visitors when they arrive at a care home. They are recognised by name, eagerly awaited and welcomed like family. The bonds they create are so special that they have now had the honour of accompanying three residents on their final earthly journey, walking proudly beside them at their funerals. It is one of the greatest privileges we have ever been given and a responsibility we never take for granted.

Our work has taken our little herd further than we ever imagined.
They are the resident therapy horses for the National Equine Show and this year will proudly represent Scotland as the resident therapy horses at the Longines Global Champions Tour London, introducing thousands of people to the life-changing impact of Equine Facilitated Learning.

Our story has been shared by STV News, the Daily Mail and BBC Radio Scotland, helping shine a light on the extraordinary connection between people and horses.

This year, our beloved Teddy has been named a BBC Make a Difference Award finalist in the Animal Award category, recognising the comfort and hope he brings to so many people. Lunar Eclipse EFL Therapy Horses CIC has also been recognised as a finalist in the Equestrian Business Awards Diversity Award, celebrating our commitment to making horses accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability or background.

But our greatest achievements will never be measured by awards or television appearances.

They are measured by the child who smiles for the first time.

The teenager who finds the confidence to believe in themselves.

The resident living with dementia who suddenly remembers.

The family who finds comfort during the darkest days.

The hospice patient whose final wishes include seeing one of our horses just one more time.

These are the moments that define who we are.

After years of dreaming, we have finally found our forever home at Ballachallan Farm.

We have already been overwhelmed by the kindness of our community. Wickes Stirling generously donated a brand-new kitchen, creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone who visits us. Keir Construction, through their Helping Hands project, donated the fencing for our Equine Facilitated Learning arena, helping us take another huge step towards creating a safe and accessible home for our herd and the people we support.

Now, we need your help.

As a non-profit organisation, every penny we receive is invested back into caring for our herd and supporting the thousands of people whose lives they touch.

Your donation will help us provide:
• Mud control mats to improve accessibility and keep both our horses and visitors safe throughout the year.
• Arena surfacing so we can continue delivering Equine Facilitated Learning safely in every season.
• A Rat Barrow to help our volunteer team maintain the yard more efficiently, allowing us to spend more time with the people who need us.
• Specialist Equine Facilitated Learning equipment, helping children, adults and older people build confidence, resilience, communication and emotional wellbeing.

Every donation, helps us continue giving hope, comfort and connection to those who need it most.

If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing our story could help us reach someone who can.

Some people will remember our horses for the awards they have received, the television appearances they have made, or the stages they have stood upon.

We will remember them for something far greater…

The child who found the courage to smile again.

The resident who remembered a treasured part of their past.

The family who found comfort when words were no longer enough.

The quiet moments when a gentle nuzzle said everything that needed to be said.

Today, we are asking you to become part of their story.

Help us ensure that our herd can continue changing lives, bringing hope where it is needed most and creating moments that families will treasure forever.

Because the greatest legacy these horses will ever leave is not the awards they win, but the hearts they heal.

Please help us write the next chapter.

With heartfelt gratitude,
