Help Lillie and Kwun as Baby Klover Fights Serious Infection

On Wednesday, September 18th, Lillie Melton and HeeKwun "Kwun" Dorsey welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Klover, into the world. The first few days were filled with joy and love as they brought her home from the hospital. However, shortly after, Lillie & Kwun noticed something was off with Klover's breathing. Trusting their instincts, they decided to take Klover to the ER, where the situation quickly became serious.

When they arrived at the hospital, they were told that Klover's oxygen levels were low, and that she was a very, very sick baby. They transferred her to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital via ambulance. Klover has a team of doctors working around the clock to treat her.

X-rays revealed fluid around Klover’s heart and lungs. She has an infection in the lining of her lungs. When fluid was drained and tested, doctors realized that this is a bacterial infection. Klover also has pneumonia. Currently Klover is on antibiotics, a feeding tube, and a ventilator. While she is responding well to having her breathing tube gradually weaned, fluid continues to build around her lungs. The doctors are carefully monitoring her progress, trying to avoid further invasive procedures like a chest tube. They are hopeful that medication to reduce the swelling and fluid retention will help her body recover.

Lillie and Kwun, as brand-new parents, are facing the unimaginable challenge of watching their precious baby girl fight a serious illness. They are both staying by Klover’s side at the hospital as much as the PICU nurses allow, and they won’t leave until they can bring her home healthy. We’ve created this GoFundMe page to offer their family and friends a way to support them during this difficult time. Our goal is to relieve some of their financial stress by covering a month’s worth of expenses—mortgage payments, utility bills, baby essentials, and meals while they remain at the hospital. Most of you that know Lillie know that she and her family recently suffered a tragedy when they lost JP. When Joy shared the news that Lillie was pregnant, I was over the top happy for them.
