Our family home was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. Unfortunately, like so many others we didn't have flood insurance.
For more than 45 years this homestead has been a shelter for members of our family, close friends, and even strangers from time to time. Our childhood memories of growing up in this house are etched in the heart and minds of those who loved and appreciated having this safe place to call home. I can remember as a child, every Friday night we would gather in the family room for movie night. We were all so happy just to be there together with one another.
Every Sunday we would have people over our house for Sunday dinner. there would be enough people at our house to start a baseball team. What a fun time. This house holds so many sentimental values for us. To see the condition that it is in right now, it's heartbreaking, it's almost the same feeling as losing a loved
one. I have sought help from FEMA and their response was to apply for an SBA loan and good luck with that. It would mean so much to me and my family if we could renew the deplorable condition of the house and make the necessary repairs to bring our beloved homestead back to life. Any help you may give is needed and would greatly appreciate it.
