Our family is facing an unexpected and heartbreaking crisis, and we are reaching out to our family, friends and faith community for help during one of the most difficult moments we have ever experienced.
My sister and her husband have been detained by ICE, and we are now navigating an extremely complex and urgent legal process. They have lived in the United States since 1989, building their lives here through decades of hard work, faith, and service. They are known as honest, hardworking, and law-abiding individuals who have always strived to contribute positively to their community.
For many years, they have faithfully served the Seventh-day Adventist Church, dedicating countless hours to Pathfinders, children’s ministry, canvassing, community outreach, evangelistic meetings, the music department, and serving as deacon and deaconess. Their lives have been rooted in service, compassion, and helping others.
While they do not have young children, they do have a young adult child who lives with them and is experiencing immense emotional distress due to their detention. The sudden separation has taken a heavy toll on our entire family.
We will be having to pay $44,000 to cover critical legal fees for both of them, including immigration attorneys, court filings, and related legal expenses. So, thank you for your willingness to help.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward legal representation and fees. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers means more than we can express.
This is not just about legal fees—it is about justice, dignity, and keeping a family together after decades of building a life in this country. Your support gives us hope during an incredibly painful and uncertain time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support.
