Luis Alfredo Diaz Inestroza was detained early Tuesday morning on June 26 after he and his lawyers were misled in Kansas City, MO. Luis was dropping off his 3 year old step son, Noah, to be deported back to Honduras with his mom.
Kenia Bautista, 6 months pregnant, was also being deported. This is the first time she has her son in over a month. After receiving assurances from ICE that Luis would be able to say goodbye to the mother of his child, the ICE agent forced Luis inside the building and shoved his attorney to the ground .
Despite assurances from ICE to him and the attorneys that Luis would not be detained, ICE detained him.
Luis had to say goodbye to his partner and his step-son who were deported back to Honduras where she fears for their safety. Now he is being detained at Morgan County Jail and awaits his bond hearing.
Please consider donating to Luis’ bond fund so we are prepared to get Luis out of detention as soon as possible.
AIRRKC, a local organization from Kansas City, had been working with the family since we got wind of Kenia's detention from the Martinez Immigration Law Firm over a month ago. While the firm worked on the legal aspect, we helped Luis and Noah with groceries, funds to be able to call Kenia and other immediate needs.
We believe that every person deserves a dignified life despite where they were born.
