Hi everybody if you know we are a community in the north west of Cork City who have become the latest victims of the forced on you (no right to object appeal or otherwise be involved in the process) council -NTA active travel plan.

It means that the Local Authority is going to rip up the street remove parking and trees and totally destroy the neighbourhood to construct cycle lanes in the misguided or even deluded belief that there is a demand for this infrastructure.

We contend that the entire process employed by the council is a loaded deck and regardless of any dissent the councils are exercising legal powers which may themselves be illegal under irish constitutional and or European law.

Protests have been ongoing since early January in the Farranree area which has resulted in elderly people having to protest in appalling weather conditions to save their community.

This is a working class community with a mature population. This is not the place for this development.

If you can help to fund a legal battle it would be greatly appreciated and if unused it would be entirely refunded to this who contribute.
