Leamington Drop In Centre Pilot Project

Tax deductible
The problem: Homelessness day programs are closed by 5pm (adults 25 years and older) and 8 pm (youth 14-24 years) and on weekends.

The solution: A drop-in center located in Leamington at 58 Erie St S, will be open 7 days a week and will be accessible by anyone ages 16 years and over in search of a warm, safe place to go between the hours of 6pm-10pm.

The pilot project will serve as a way to gather rich data on service users in order to implement more permanent programming that addresses the needs of vulnerable locals. The Feeding Windsor Essex team is hoping to offer food, resources, and supplies to those in need at the drop-in center in addition to a warm place to gather and connect.

Feeding Windsor Essex has been creating food security across Windsor Essex for the past eight years, feeding hundreds of meals daily to individuals of all ages in our community through multi-level programming.

Street Angels, a program run by Feeding Windsor Essex, has been operating as an outreach program for the past two years, serving those experiencing homelessness, poverty, and housing instability to empower them to reach their fullest potential.

We are looking for volunteers (local to Leamington) to staff the drop-in center. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to Street Angels by sending us a message on Go Fund Me or through our Facebook page.
