Laurie's Guatemala Mission

Hello all! For those that don't know me, My name is Laurie and I am an RN that volunteers with a wonderful Non Profit Organization called Surgicorps International. They provide free medical and surgical care in third world countries for those who can't afford it or don't have access.
As a volunteer, we are required to pay for our flight, accomodation, food , and contribute to some of the expenses of the mission. Also we leave a donation to the hospital/healthcare centre that we are working out of. This particular hospital that I will be volunteering with in Antigua Guatemala, is called Hermano Pedro Hospital and is also residence for over 350 elderly, orphaned, mentally or physically handicapped individuals etc. It receives NO government funding and relies soley on the donation and assistance of organizations like Surgicorps.
This will be my second year going and for some reason this years trip is much more expensive, costing me 3500.00 plus the cost of food, and the donation to the hospital that I would like to leave.
Soooo, I would like to reach out to my friends, colleagues, kind strangers ;) , to help me raise some money to go. Any little bit helps and would be greatly appreciated ! I truly appreciate the support ( even kind words and encouragement ) that everyone gives me.
