Laurel Burns was born extraordinary. Born without arms to a mother who struggled with addiction, she overcame all odds. As a child her father and step-mother encouraged her independence which helped her become the strong woman she is today.

After graduating from high school in Madison, Laurel participated in the Rotary Foreign Exchange program and traveled to Brazil for a year. While abroad, she became fluent in Portuguese and made life-long friends.

With her great dexterity and ability to think outside the box, she  can drive a car, cook, go fishing,  draw, paint and do most everything anyone else can, but with her feet.

In 2009, she became a mother for the first time. Everyone was apprehensive about how she would physically approach the challenges of motherhood. With determination and love, Laurel astonished with her own ways of handling her new child. She had unique challenges and she faced them head on.  In 2011, she became a mother a second time and was more confident than ever. Shortly afterwards however, becoming a single mother would prove to be her biggest challenge to this day.

Laurel has been a single mother for 4 years and handles her circumstances with a strong willingness to succeed. She inspires everyone she meets and always meets people with a smile.

"There were times where I wanted to give up, but then I remembered who was watching."

Laurel is currently a full time student juggling motherhood and a physical disability. She drives her kids to school, does laundry, cleans, cooks meals and takes her kids to extracurricular activities. Finding a home where her family can settle is extrememly important to her. She has found it challenging to find adequate housing that meets her and her family’s needs. This woman is amazing and deserves the best. Let's customize a home that fits her needs to more easily go about her day to day activities.

***The amount I'm trying to raise is not for a $250,000 house (although if we surpass that, it'd be amazing); I'm also taking into consideration all applicable taxes and fees taken from Gofundme.com as well.  :D
