Help Us Feed Those in Desperate Need in Los Cabos

My name is Rick Antillon. I am the founder of Heart4Cabo. We operate a faith based outreach ministry/foundation/charity that has been helping the poor in the Los Cabos community for the last 10 years.

The day after the dreadful Hurricane Odile, the group Heart4Cabo was formed on Facebook. We have been able to help thousands of people with our various love missions. We have fed close to 30,000 meals, built a community kitchen, helped rebuild a rehab center, gave away 3,500 Christmas gifts, donated 33 block homes, built 4 church community centers, provided disaster and pandemic relief, medical relief, clothing donations, furniture donations, supplied water, got children to school with uniforms, served the elderly, and more!

These miracles are a result of our collective hearts operating in unity as one big heart that has helped transform so many beautiful lives. Through each of us, we have seen the fingerprint of God in the Los Cabos community that lacks sufficient resources to maintain a healthy, secure, and comfortable life. Each soul is reminded that they are not forgotten and that God's unconditional love will remain in their lives as they live in a world that often turns a blind eye to the poor.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help support and maintain our feeding kitchen called La Cocinita. It feeds 250 to 400 people per day, Monday through Thursday. Our location includes a kitchen and a home for the chef that we built. This is where the people go to receive their meal.  We also plan on using some of the funding to help us buy the 550 Christmas gifts that we purchase every year. 

The beautiful souls that we help, being mostly children, are living in disastrous situations every day. The storms of life are a daily occurrence. Can you imagine not knowing if you're going to have a meal that day and that you might have to resort to eating out of a dumpster behind the grocery store? Most days, the meals that we give them are the only meal that they receive that day. Many don't even have drinking water, which the kitchen also helps supply.

They are all so grateful for the small number of financial partners that we have because otherwise, they would not be receiving any food. However, it's asking a lot for us to depend on this small kind-hearted group of people to support the kitchen alone. It takes an average of $1500 of food every 3 weeks. This is not just our mission in Heart4Cabo, but it should be the mission and responsibility of anyone in the world with the ability to help. We have more than enough resources on this planet that no person should be hungry and unhealthy. We can make a difference! Why not start today?
