LP195 Is Raising Funds for Children of the Night

We the loving, powerful, united leaders of LP195 are committed to raising funds to support Children of the Night, a privately funded non-profit organization, in their goal of intervening in the lives of children who have been sexually exploited or are at risk of being involved in sex trafficking. Children of the Night has been rescuing America's children from prostitution since 1979. They have rescued over 12,000 American children from sex trafficking/prostitution - that is more children than other sex trafficking programs combined. Children of the Night spend 87% or more of their funds on the direct care and education of children and young people who have been victimized by prostitution. Children of the Night rescue youth from sex traffickers, help with medical services, public health insurance, social security/disability benefits, maternity housing, drug program placement, domestic violence housing, transportation, mental health services, psychiatric evaluations or access to psychotropic medications, advocacy with the courts, social workers, probation officers, resume preparation, job placement, access to vocational or trade schools or community colleges, applications for FAFSA, and ready and willing to help. For the past 44 years, Children of the Night has operated a variety of programs for America’s child sex trafficking victims including a 24-hour toll-free nationwide hotline, a drop-in center in the heart of Hollywood, street programs throughout the Western United States, and a world-class shelter home in Van Nuys (1992 – 2017) where 3,048 children lived and received comprehensive case management and onsite schooling. Over the years, they have maintained a 70% - 80% success rate and have placed hundreds of America’s child sex trafficking victims in college. Children of the Night has gained a reputation as one of the most prominent and successful organizations in the nation addressing the needs of America’s sex-trafficked children.
