Hi everyone!! I am fundraising to purchase 2000 whistle kits to be distributed in communities across Los Angeles to alert our communities when is nearby or detaining someone. This strategy is being used nationally and specifically in LA!

This is starting because in my 9-5 work, we received funding and I distributed 10,000 whistles to 19+ community orgs/rapid response groups/coffee shops + businesses who have been distributing them directly to community members in high risk neighborhoods. However, we are all out and I’ve been hearing from orgs + community members there is still a strong need!!

Because the need is urgent, I wanted to fundraise funds separately from any entities that may delay the process! Please note this funding is not affiliated with any organization, agency, or company and is being run by lil ol me. When big corps, philanthropy, & large funders “don’t have the funds,” WE GOT US!

With these funds I raise, I’ll (hopefully with the help of community) continue to distribute them in bulk to community orgs/rapid response groups/ coffee shops and businesses who support the work so they can get them out directly to the community and to those on the frontlines responding to raids.
