Hello my name is Cassie and I am asking all of us to come together to support a family that needs our help.

Carlos Sarmiento, a member of my community (in Florida) informed me that his father, also named Carlos Sarmiento and his step-mother, named Gabriela, had both been forcibly taken by I.C.E. And that as of (Feb. 06, 2026) his father was deported to Honduras. Gabriela is still in custody pending deportation to Mexico.

I asked for Carlos' permission to set this fundraiser up to rally my community for support in getting funds together for his family's necessary attorney fees and the cost of rebuilding their lives after this tragedy.

I cannot imagine what Carlos and Gabriela faced while in separate detention centres; I do know that Carlos is disabled with a lung condition that requires medical care. Being held in any type of detention centre is going to hinder his necessary medical treatments. Gabriela is still facing these horrors.

It is important that all kinds of families are able to live here in Florida without the very real fear of being threatened, harmed, and harassed, deported by I.C.E., and more.

We are all human beings after all.

All humans deserve the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Please donate to help pay the attorney fees of Gabriela and Carlos Sarmiento, as well as to get them safely back on their feet in Honduras and to help rebuild their lives from this.
