My niece's wish for her family....

Donation protected
I am raising funds for my niece in South Africa. Her family, like so many others in South Africa, is struggling to make ends meet, primarily due to failing Government economic policies. She is stepping up to help her family by raising cash to apply in ways that will make them more financially independent.

Here is their story in her own words...

My name is Kaylin Booyens and I am an 19 yr old living in Cape Town, South Africa. I live with my mom, sister and brother in a small rental apartment. I work as an administrator for a small company.

South Africa is such a beautiful country but unfortunately life here can be very challenging. Through bad management, the government has created a situation that ruined the economy and this led to mass unemployment.

My parents work hard to provide for our family but the bad economy has really hurt them. They have changed jobs a number of times due to layoffs and even when they have a job, there is no job security due to the state of our country.

I want to help my parents and after talking to my siblings, we decided that we could help by getting a lump sum of money to pay for some urgent items and things that will improve our chances at better jobs.

We plan to spend the money on a laptop that we can use to earn money online and I can do online courses to help me get a promotion at work and earn a higher salary.

We would like to buy a fridge that will allow us to buy in bulk at the end of the month and store food instead of having to buy food on a daily basis. We also need a microwave to prepare food cheaper and faster than in the oven that uses lots of expensive electricity.

My mom now drives me to work and back and this is interfering with her work schedule. We want to use the money as a deposit on a proper driving, lasting car. That will help my mom spend more time at her job and it will allow me to be considered for a sales position in my work place and help out with driving my siblings around so my parents do not have to take time off work.

As hardworking as we are, the people in South Africa are under a lot of financial pressure. There is so much potential to build a good future for my family and I, but we currently don’t have the tools.

I have heard so many stories of how people’s lives have changed through the help of others, so here I am, swallowing my pride and asking for the help we need.

Any donation will mean the world to my family and I. We are aiming to raise around $5000 as this amount will cover all the listed items above.

Thank you so much for taking your time to read this,

Kaylin.
