Thank you for choosing to support the Keller Williams Marjory Stoneman Douglas Support Fund.  Please read the information below and be sure to check our UPDATES for the latest information.

The purpose of this campaign is to raise money to fund various, on-going activities, initiatives and efforts of the Keller Williams Coral Springs Cares Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, supporting Marjory Stoneman Douglas students, faculity and staff, the families of those who were killed or injured, and the many others in the MSD Community who were affected by the tragedy that occurred on February 14, 2018.

We have set BIG FUNDRAISING GOALS and have put into motion a plan to provide consistent, purposeful outreach and support to the families of those who were killed, families of those injured, teachers and students of Stoneman Douglas and other area schools, first responders and others in the Community, over the course of the next year and more. These activities include:

(1) continuation of our "Marjory Stoneman Douglas 2nd Wednesday Gifts of Love " program providing various ongoing support activities and outreach programs for those affected in the MSD Community; and

(2) assistance with funding a HUGE, significant, everlasting Memorial/Dedication Project to be presented to and chosen by MSD students, staff and administration

Background and Our Involvement:

In the mid-afternoon of February 14, 2018, a number of Agents working in our Keller Williams Coral Springs/Parkland Market Center started to receive alerts regarding an incident occurring at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida a mere 3 1/2 miles to the north of our Market Center. As the hours passed, we came to learn that 17 children and staff were killed along with well over a dozen injured.

Many children of KW Coral Springs Agents were on Stoneman Douglas' campus that day.  Fortunately, by God's grace, no family member of any Agent in our office suffered a death or injury.  However, we all knew that it would only be a short matter of time until we would learn of someone familiar to us whose life would be changed forever.  As information was gathered later that day and in the following days, it became not 6 degrees of separation between us and someone who was profoundly affected by this tragedy, but only 1 or perhaps 2 degrees at most.

We also became aware that there would be a time in the coming days when we would be called upon to help those in need.  Culture in our Market Center had already risen in full force in recent years through various efforts to support our own Agents and others in the Community.  Now our Market Center would once again rise together and embrace our Culture to act purposefully, compassionately, and to whatever extent necessary, to help those in need in our Community.

Realization, Vision and Goals:

While the immediate needs of many of the victims and families were initially met with, in many cases, an overwhelming amount of support, we learned in speaking with others in the Community who suffered similarly sudden or catastrophic loss, that the true need for support occurs in the months, the year or more after the event.  As such, we initiated our "Marjory Stoneman Douglas 2nd Wednesday Gifts of Love " program which seeks to provide support and outreach to the numerous groups of people affected by the tragedy and done with the purpose of providing continuous support over the course of many, many months.

We are also seeking to assist with funding a large, permanent Memorial/Dedication Project to be chosen by MSD.  We have initiated discussions with the school administration, staff and students to determine the best opportunity and options for this project.  This will all take time to investigate and pursue to provide clarity and direction.  Updates regarding that progress will be posted on these Campaign pages.

We THANK YOU for your Love and Support of all of those affected . With your help we all can make a tremendous, beneficial, ongoing and everlasting impact on the lives of people in the Parkland, Coral Springs and the MSD Communities affected by the events of February 14, 2018!!
