UCSC K7 Skilled Craft Strike Hardship Fund

Monica Molina and Karina Hernandez are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Afolake Sawyerr.

49 UCSC K7 Skilled Craft workers (Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, HVAC Specialists, Locksmiths, Painters and Power Plant Operators) and AFSCME Local 3299 members are on an OPEN ENDED STRIKE until they win fair wages, safer staffing levels, and an end to outsourcing.

After fighting for a fair contract for over 2 years, and after UCSC forced insulting terms on these workers right before the holidays, they had no choice but to go on an open-ended strike that started on Jan 6th.

But this decision comes with NO PAY for these workers and their families.  

This fund will go directly towards helping striking workers pay bills, including COBRA payments if UCSC decides to stop paying towards their health insurance.
