On a seemingly ordinary day, a city tree fell on my car while I was driving with my son. As a single mom of four, this accident has turned our lives upside down. Just recently, I fought stage 3 breast cancer and had another surgery on March 23. I was set to return to work, but now my surgical site is swollen and painful, and I'm unable to work. My son and I are both traumatized, and he refuses to go near the accident site, constantly talking about the incident.

Financially, things are incredibly tough. Especially given the city is not trying to take responsibility and my insurance is practically saying I don’t have pain and suffering and loss of wages. I don't have rental car coverage, leaving me without a vehicle to get to my medical appointments. Unfortunately my car was deemed a total loss, I need help raising money for a new car. I will also need help to maintain my bills while on medical leave as I have had another surgery 5/6/25, as a result of this accident. Mind you I was medically cleared the day before the accident and suppose to go back to work Monday May 5. I will need assistance getting another vehicle. With only 60% of my pay due to medical leave, covering bills is a struggle. This situation has added significant stress to our lives, affecting my health and my children's well-being. I am so depressed. I don’t know what to do. I’m exhausted as a mom a person. I don’t have a shoulder that I can lean on and I just need help. 

The accident has left me in pain, requiring more medical appointments, which I struggle to attend without transportation. The trauma has affected my sleep, with nightmares about the tree falling, leaving me drenched in sweat and my heart racing. My son is also mentally affected, and it's heartbreaking to see him go through this. We need support to navigate this challenging time and get back on our feet.
