en la columna soy paciente del hospital Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Patient Care Team - Ingrid Valenzuela
Jordi is the 14-year-old son of Ingrid Valenzuela, who is his sole caregiver. Jordi is under care at Memorial Sloan Kettering for treatment of a malignant brain tumor that has spread to his spinal cord. He has just completed a second cycle of radiation therapy. He will receive an intravenous dose of bevacizumab every three weeks in our outpatient day hospital. He requires frequent outpatient visits for disease management. He is currently receiving high doses of steroids to control symptoms related to the spinal cord disease. In addition, he is experiencing significant fatigue due to radiation therapy, decreased appetite, and pain in his upper abdomen (mucositis). He has a new seizure disorder and is on medication. Jordi requires his mother's full-time care and constant monitoring for seizure activity, fever, pain, or changes in his neurological status.
Ingrid Valenzuela is unable to work because she must be with Jordi at all times.
