Hello everyone its Jessica and I just want to say thank you for taking the time out to watch my video and for even getting this far in my description. Never in a million years would I have believed that I would be making a Go Fund Me, but I can't deny the effectiveness of this platform so HERE I AM. I have been blessed with an amazing oppurtunity to accompany As One Charity to Trelawny, Jamaica where for the second year they will be returning to Ulster Springs Elementry School for their We Are One Jamaica program.
I believe that life is ultimately about service. The giving of yourself, your time, your presence, your resources, and your love to positively impact the lives of others so that when you leave them their lives are changed for the better. It has always been a desire/ goal of mine to take a mission trip and this is something that I just couldn't pass up and with your help I won't have to.
As One Charity is an organization that is near and dear to me and unlike some of my other acts of service it doesn't require me donating another kidney lol. A college friend of mine, Brandy Zeigler started As One in 2010 and ever since then I have watched as she's worked tirelessly and selflessly to meet the needs of those who were without. It is an organization built in the community for the community. And I am excited that I am at a place in life where I am able to go along with, stand alongside this amazing group of people and participate.
During our time at Ulster Springs Elementary School we will be bringing crates of school supplies for both the students and teachers. As One will be working alongside the teachers in their classrooms to lend a helping hand and we will also be putting together some lesson plans of our own. Teaching classes and life skills in the areas of technology, agriculture, sewing, astronomy, and different arts & crafts. With the money that As One has raised on top of bringing school supplies we will be making minor improvements around the school; donating a printer and white boards.
I know many people would like to say that there are enough people in the U.S. that are in need and that is very true, but that doesn't lessen the need of those around the world as well. I don't know about you, but I would love to make an influence in this world far beyond just my city, state, and country.... And this is MY chance!!
I am reaching out to each of you and asking that you would plant a seed and help me reach my goal of $2,500 by October 17th, 2016 to cover my travel, lodging, and food expenses while in Trelawny. It would be my pleasure to stand alsongside As One Charity to be there and give of myself, my time, my knowledge, my resources, and my love for ALL of God's children. So any amount thay you feel led or comfortable giving would truly be appreciated. Thank you for your time God Bless!!
