I had the honor of knowing one of the most amazing woman, Jessica Fortney Martellaro. We go back some years to high school. Always just a phone call with no lost time.

Jessica married the man of her dreams Matt Martellaro, and embraced two step sons with his package. The newley happily married couple would soon be expecting a new baby girl. All of this happening while Jessica sat side by side with her mother who was battling cancer. Shortly after Gianna was born falling short of all her first milestones she lost her mom to the "c" word. She managed to stay strong and carry on. For Jessica and Matt some incredible news came their way. Baby #2 was on his way. Jessicas excitement became her worst fear when she discovered a lump in her breast. Staying positive praying it was just a clogged milk duct she learned it was indeed a tumor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. Remaining posistive and optimistic for her young daughter and unborn son she managed to get treatment and deliver a miracle baby boy Roman.
Jessica was a big part in helping spread the word for other mothers who were endeavering the same things in life. She told me sometimes that was her only way to relate to her real world. Her positive attitude and unforgetable smile lit up every room she entered. She had this wit about her. Crazy Jess! Jessica underwent many surgeries including a double masectomy to finally get the magic words cancer free. A true warrior momma!
This was magic to everyones ears.

She was honored at Wig out for cancer. Apart of DontBeAChump!CheckforaLump! And excited to be apart of a study. Jessica began to have pain. In March she was given the news the "c" word was back in two places her hip and spine. After undergoing more chemo she was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago to hear it was in her marrow. April 26, 2017 Jessica received her calling, an angel recieved her wings. I have learned a lot from Jessica these past few years. She was famous for reminding us all to do our self breast exams #checkyourboobies and hold our loved ones a little longer and a little closer because tomorrow is never a gaurantee. To live each day to the fullest and not to sweat the small stuff. May we let her inspiration live on through her beautiful children Gianna almost 3, and Roman almost 1, and the man Matt who stood by her side and helped create her blessings. If you were ever fortunate enough to be touched by. Jessicafortney-martellaro help to bless her childrens future schooling in Honor of their amazing Mommy.
Thank you in advance for all your support!
