Help Jason & Midnight Rebuild After Wrongful Displacement

Donation protected

On April 2, 2026, along with 62 other innocent people, I was forcibly displaced from my home by the city of St. Louis, SWAT, the FBI, and the STLPD with no warning, recourse, or support (you can see my interview with Channel 4 here). You can see other local coverage about this here, here, and plenty of other places if you search "South City apartment raid" or "Concord Apartments".

As a disabled, diabetic person and recent below-the-knee amputee, I am now facing another life-threatening challenge: I need a triple bypass (open heart surgery) as soon as possible. I am currently undergoing intensive physical therapy to become strong enough to use my leg prosthetic as my primary mobility aid because I will not be able to wheel my wheelchair while my chest recovers. But I cannot schedule my surgery until housing is secured for myself and my faithful feline companion, Midnight.

I am on disability, which is not enough to meet the income requirements for most rentals, and waitlists for subsidized housing are years long. My children (Myles & Lydia) and my co-parent (Kat) are helping me make it week to week as much as they are able, but we cannot cover the costs alone. I am humbly reaching out to all my communities: friends, extended family, South City natives, LGBTQ+, and more to gather any resources (funds or otherwise) that will help me secure safe housing so I can schedule my triple bypass.

Any funds raised here will help me pay a year of rent upfront to subvert income requirements, or allow me to stay at my current extended stay hotel until my surgery & cover boarding for Midnight during my recovery. This support will provide stability and safety as I work toward recovery and regaining independence.

I am fighting to stay alive so I can be there for my children as they grow, and for my friends as we age together. I want to get healthy enough to be an advocate for other impoverished and disabled people who face injustice, but all of that hinges on housing. I feel like the social systems are designed to kill me.

Please help me not only survive, but thrive so I can fight for myself and people like me. Thank you for your consideration.
