India- A Social Work Experience

As I begin my final year in grad school, I will be taking a trip to Kolhapur, India to work with several non-profit organizations. I'll be traveling with two other women, and we will be creating opportunities for social workers to work on important sustainable programs around HIV Prevention & Care, Agriculture, Website Design and Fundraising.
As many of you know, I attend one of the most expensive Universities in Denver, and even though I received some financial assistance for tuition after my father’s death, I still pay a large portion out of pocket, leaving little to nothing for any type of savings.
Traveling from Denver to India can be expensive, especially when the work I'll be doing will be in remote areas.
Having worked in the developing world before, I feel that monetary donations for organizations you serve is a respectful and customary gesture.
Some of the money raised will be used for airfare and lodging, but the majority of the funds raised will be used to provide supplies and support to organizations I will be working with.
Health service and agriculture recourses in rural India are lacking and people need assistance. Please consider giving, and you can share my journey through social media. I believe we are all a community, and through small actions, we can make a large impact.
