James' Eagle Project: VFW Porch

Donation protected
My name is James and I am a Life Scout from Troop 855 of Severna Park, MD.

My Eagle Scout project is to build a 2,688 square foot concrete patio and roofed porch that will provide a space for outdoor seating and entertaining, protected entry, and improve curb appeal for the Harry L. Cooper V.F.W. Post 160 building.

I chose this project because the military and our veterans mean a lot to me.  They have made many sacrifices to help better my community and our country.  I feel it is time to give back to them.  As they have made our lives better I'd like to make theirs better.

I've already accomplished a lot.  The permit has been approved and we started construction in mid-September 2018.  The concrete pad was poured on 1 Oct.  I've raised more than $9100 in cash and more than $17000 from in-kind donations.  I still need an additional $11,000.  We have begun framing the south facade of the building.

I am asking for your support to help me reach my goal so I can purchase the materials needed to complete this project.
