Hi, I'm Jonathan Piña. I am a Junior at Highland Park High School. I was nominated by my teachers for an incredible program called Global Glimpse. This program sends select students from high schools around the US to travel to different countries providing community service. For my Global Glimpse experience, I will be traveling to Nicaragua for 15 days. During my time in Nicaragua, I will be teaching English to children and working on a community service project. 

I hope that the Global Glimpse experience allows me to explore the history of Nicaragua and its culture and politics, while working in the ducational field in this developing country. Global Glimpse will offer me the opportunity to participate in critical thinking challenges and open my eyes to new perspectives. I hope that Global Glimpse helps me to think globally and carry this experience with me for the rest of my life.
