In 1998 Donna & Phil Satow lost their son, Jed, to suicide. Through their time of grief and questions, they developed the JED Foundation (JED) in 2000 to honor their son by fighting against our nation's tragedy of suicide. It continues to be the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34 (NCHS 352 OCT 2019 ) partially due to the shame and stigma surrounding mental health.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), one in five Americans experiences mental health issues which translate to more than 40M adults/year.

Studies show that people with addiction issues often have coexisting mental health disorders like anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, as they are inextricably linked. America is rich in mental health services, but information poor. Despite vigorous organizational efforts, there's still a lack of awareness and knowledge on mental health, and many suffer in silence.

We, a group of volunteers called LI 9 Legacy, have come together during the pandemic to champion mental health awareness/education and raise funds to assist JED's ongoing comprehensive and evidence-based high school, college, and community programs.

We ask that you donate what you can and..

We invite you to come to the LightHouse Summit on Fri, May 22 - Sun, May 24, 2020. We organized a 3-day virtual health and wellness experience with 29+ speakers/facilitators sharing their knowledge and experiential wisdom for applying positive lifestyle changes to sustain a balanced, happy, and holistic way of being.

Thank you!
