Some families take years to come together.

Ours happened instantly.

When we met, it wasn’t just two women falling in love, it was two children finding their person, their sibling, their home. The connection was immediate and undeniable. That’s why we lovingly call ourselves Instacoffey, because when our lives blended, it was instantaneous, warm, and forever we became #instafamily

I carried our daughter.

My wife carried our son.

But from the very first moment we became a family, both children became ours.

We’ve raised them together — celebrating milestones, wiping tears, sharing laughter, and building a life rooted in love, safety, and intention. In every way that truly matters, we are already a family.

Now, we’re working to make that truth official in the eyes of the law.

We are currently working with an attorney to finalize the adoption process for both children so they are legally protected and permanently recognized as belonging to both of us. While we expected legal costs, there were unexpected fees we did not anticipate. To complete everything and cross the finish line, we are needing an additional $1,238 total.

This isn’t about changing our family; it’s about protecting it.

Legal adoption provides security, peace of mind, and certainty for our children. It ensures they will never have to question where they belong or who their parents are.

Once the adoptions are finalized, we plan to celebrate with an adoption party for the kids! A joyful day honoring what they’ve always known: they are chosen, cherished, and forever.
