In Loving Memory of Jasmine — For Samara’s Future

Hello, our names are Shirell and Lamont, and Jasmine is our daughter.
It is with the heaviest hearts that we share that she has lost her fight and is now at peace with the Lord.

We humbly ask for your support in helping our granddaughter, Samara, as she now faces life without her mother at such a young age.

_____________________________________________________
In August 2024, our daughter Jasmine Farmer received life-changing news — she was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. What started in her colon had already spread to her liver and lungs. Since that day, Jasmine has faced an incredibly difficult journey filled with strength, courage, and determination.

Jasmine has undergone extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments in an effort to fight this aggressive cancer, traveling every two weeks back and forth to New York City. While treatments have helped shrink the tumors, the road has been far from easy. Just recently it was discovered that the cancer had also spread to multiple areas of her spine. Before beginning radiation for the spinal tumor, Jasmine had to undergo major surgery to fuse the fracture in her L5 vertebrae. She is now in physical therapy to help strengthen her body.

Despite the physical and emotional challenges she faces every day, Jasmine continues to fight with incredible resilience — especially for the most important person in her life, her beautiful 11-year-old daughter, Samara.

Before her diagnosis, Jasmine was the proud owner of Sage to Sea, a beloved holistic shop in Garwood, New Jersey. Her store was more than a business — it was a place where people came for healing, community, and kindness. Sadly, due to her illness and ongoing treatments, Jasmine was forced to close the store. Jasmine has always been a hard worker. She is now on disability and had to resign from her bartending jobs at Barclays Center as well as Prudential Center, and her full-time job with Delta Airlines is currently on hold.

Jasmine is surrounded by a strong circle of love and support. As her parents, Shirell and Lamont, her fiancé Aaron, and a village full of beautiful friends and family have been by her side every step of the way, helping her navigate the challenges of treatment and recovery.

She has also been uplifted by her incredible childhood friends — Tegest, Brittany, Jehada — her true “sisters in battle.” They have shown up for Jasmine in the most meaningful ways: sending meals, preparing food, helping care for Samara, and providing the emotional strength and encouragement she needs to keep fighting each day.

The list goes on with people who love Jasmine dearly. When Jasmine is unable to get out of bed some days, her bonus Dad Stevie makes sure that Samara gets to school on time, and her bonus Mom Gail makes sure that Samara gets home safely after school. Her village has been present and helping in every way possible. Jasmine wakes up every day acknowledging how truly blessed she is despite the circumstances.

As the tumors continue to grow, her oncology team is now looking into clinical trials, as the chemotherapy is no longer responding. This prognosis has led Jasmine to start exploring alternative treatment options in conjunction with any clinical trials she may be eligible for. Every effort is being explored in hopes of stopping the cancer, achieving remission, and returning to the life she loves — especially being present for her daughter as she grows.

One of these efforts includes an alternative cancer treatment center in Tijuana, Mexico, where Jasmine would spend approximately three weeks. Hope4Cancer integrates holistic and natural practices to help Jasmine heal on a cellular level. Unfortunately, this treatment option is not covered by insurance.

The financial burden of medical treatments, surgeries, travel for care, and everyday living expenses has become overwhelming for Jasmine and our family.

We are asking our community to come together and help raise $200,000 to support:

• Ongoing medical treatments and care
• Potential clinical trials and specialized therapies
• Recovery from spinal surgery
• Living expenses during treatment
• Support and care for her daughter

If Jasmine has ever touched your life, or if you simply believe in helping someone in their time of need, please consider donating whatever you can. No amount is too small.

Your support, prayers, and sharing of this page will make a meaningful difference in Jasmine’s fight.

Let’s rally around Jasmine and remind her that she is not alone.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. ❤️
