Imambargah & Community Centre in Perth, Australia

In 2014, Bazm-e-Ahlebait of WA Inc. (BEA) was formed by a small community of Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslims living in Perth, Western Australia and was subsequently registered with the Australian government as an incorporated association and as a not-for-profit charity organization with Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Bazm-e-Ahlebait was established to fulfill the religious needs of Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslims in Perth.

Bazm-e-Ahlebait has been successfully organising Muharram Ashra Majalis, Jashan programs, Eid Prayers, Ramzan events and weekend Islamic Academy (madressah) for community children for the last almost 8 years in rented venues including community centres and public schools.

As the community has significantly grown and continues to grow, Bazm-e-Ahlebait is now working towards establishing its own Imambargah & Community Centre in one of the most isolated capital cities of the world i.e. Perth, Australia.

This Imambargah & Community Centre will provide a permanent place for carrying out all our current activities, increase the frequency of the programs and arrange for resident Alim to provide guidance on a regular basis. Moreover, burial services (ghusal and cold storage) will also be included for the deceased Shia members of the community.

With the trust and support of the community we have managed to raise around $350,000 (AUD) so far. The initial capital cost of the Imambargah / Islamic Centre is estimated to be around $1 Million (AUD). We are now reaching out to the broader community to establish this vision and make this dream a reality!
