Indigo Wings is a pioneering project space dedicated to the non-speaking and unreliably speaking community, launching in Glastonbury UK—a place where people can access and play with Alternative Communication Technology and processes such as Eye Gaze technology, and Spelling practitioners. Our mission is to provide accessible, creative, and empowering pathways for communication, while fostering a culture of open-minded acceptance, respect, and joy through activity. We will also provide access to accessible person centered and consent led holistic therapies and practices.
This project is called Indigo Wings and will start up in Glastonbury UK.
What We Offer
Low-cost access to Augmented Communication Technology
Tools such as Eye Gaze systems (for those with motor-neuron challenges) and spelling/typing apps that enable non-speakers to express themselves more fully.
Workshops & One-to-One Support
Creative, person-centered sessions that nurture communication, consent-based practice, and the recognition of diverse gifts and abilities.
A Hub for the Spelling Community
A welcoming home for individuals and facilitators exploring non-traditional forms of communication, offering training opportunities and peer support.
An Inclusive Creative Environment
A harmonious space where people with Autism, multiple learning differences, or complex needs can access opportunities for education, expression, and community connection.
Why Now
We have identified the perfect building in Glastonbury to house this project. Our immediate goal is to secure it for the first year, while we put systems in place, purchase essential technology, and begin training facilitators to run workshops. We are applying for grant funding, but in this critical start-up phase, we are seeking working capital from sponsors, investors, and philanthropists to:
Invest in assistive technologies: Eyegaze and facilitate availability to the wider community.
Train 3 local practitioners in RPM (Rapid Prompting Method) and facilitate accessibility to the wider community
Launch our initial creative programs
