On Tuesday, January 13th, so many worlds were turned upside down when Brittany was driving Hudson to PreK at Hillsboro Early Childhood. Life will never be what it once was.
My nephew Hudson’s mom, Brittany, was tragically taken far too soon, and Hudson is fighting for his life at just 4 years old. He remains in critical condition. The days ahead are filled with unknowns, prayers, and hope.
Brittany and Steven are and always have been incredible parents to Hudson. They both poured everything they had into giving him a life filled with love, adventure, and joy. Every decision they made centered around him and making his world as full and beautiful as possible.
As my brother-in-law Steven remains by Hudson’s side during this critical time, he will be away from work for an unknown amount of time. Right now, his focus needs to be being present for his son. Hudson’s Grandma Hankins (Mimi) is also staying by their side at the hospital, providing comfort, strength, and unwavering love to both Steven and Hudson during these long and uncertain days.
If you know Steven, you know being a dad is his entire world. He lives for it. He’s the dad who plays catch, runs around at the park, goes on adventures, and makes everyday moments special. Hudson is his everything.
Steven is also one of the most selfless people you will ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back. If you needed help, he would drop everything without hesitation. He has always shown up for others and now he needs our support.
This GoFundMe is meant to help ease some of the financial burden during this heartbreaking and uncertain time so Steven can focus on his son, healing, and navigating the days ahead without Brittany.
