Ayre Manor Hospice Art Project
Donation protected
Dear Sooke Community:
Under the umbrella of the Sooke Arts’ Council, a group of local artists has gathered for a simple yet meaningful project to honour the town’s compassionate hospice services. Together our mission is to create and curate a collection of beautiful art that will bring warmth and colour to the hospice rooms at Ayre Manor. These two rooms and the adjacent family room are where life’s most tender and sacred moments often occur; where final good byes are quietly made. It’s a sacred space where families can find solace and strength.
This is a two part project. The first part is already underway with a dozen artists mixing their paints, sharpening their pencils, spinning their wool and firing their clay.
The second part is where we need financial assistance: The Ayre Manor family room is a narrow area that abuts the two hospice rooms. It really needs a practical makeover. We have proposed to management the addition of a built-in wall cabinet. It would tackle storage for cots, medical equipment, and family’s personal belongings. This cabinet would include a fold out table, coffee area and additional shelving for books, puzzles, colouring books etc.
Together we can give the gift of a more comfortable and practical space for both patients and visitors, at a time when comforts are most valuable. Please help us achieve our goal of $8000.00 for materials and construction, Thank you for your support and generosity.
