Sheriff Gary Long, of Butts County - Georgia, met with an elderly man who had custody of his 2 great-granddaughters on 7-30-2020. He was fearful that the 2 little girls would be taken from them and placed back with their mother, who has a drug addiction. Sheriff worked with the elderly man and ensured that his wife and he would keep the girls until their granddaughter had won her war with drug addiction.
On 8-4-2020, the mother of the 2 little girls was involved in a terrible car accident, where she was left badly injured. One of the occupants of the vehicle died on the scene.
Sheriff Long posted the following on the Butts County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page:
Since that post, we have received a TON of requests to help this family. We spoke with the great-grandfather today and he has agreed to accept monetary donations on behalf of the 2 little girls, who’s lives have been almost destroyed by their parents illegal drug use.
All money raised from this GoFundMe, will be given to this family to help in raising the 2 littlegirls.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
