My name is andre, and I am raising funds to help families affected by the devastating floods that recently struck Sumatra, Indonesia.
Heavy rainfall over the past days has caused severe flooding, destroying homes, sweeping away belongings, and forcing thousands of families to evacuate with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
The disaster agency BNPB reports that about 576,300–576,300+ people have been displaced / evacuated (pengungsi / mengungsi).
On deaths: at the most recent update, the death toll was 753 people killed (meninggal).
On missing persons: the number of missing (hilang) is reported as 650 people missing in the same update.
Entire neighborhoods are now submerged. Many families—children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups—are sheltering in temporary evacuation centers with very limited access to clean water, food, dry clothing, and medical care. Some have lost their homes completely, while others are still searching for missing loved ones.
Local resources are overwhelmed, and immediate support is urgently needed.
Your donation will help provide:
Emergency food and clean water
Warm clothing and blankets
Hygiene kits & basic medical supplies
Temporary shelter materials
Support for families who lost their homes
Even a small contribution can make a huge difference for a family struggling to get through this disaster.
If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign also helps immensely.
Thank you for standing with Sumatra in this difficult time.
Your kindness brings hope where it’s needed most.
