My name's Kadeem "KayTwo" King; born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and I've been experiencing homelessness for over sixteen months now due to unforseen and very unfortunate circumstances. Despite actively searching for a new home daily, Toronto's rental market has become ridiculously unaffordable making my search extremely challenging, frustrating and hopeless. As of September 2025 I'm enrolled in full-time studies at Centennial College, and despite my best efforts my homelessness has begun negatively affecting my performance and attendance.

Even with a priority homeless status and actively participating in the City of Toronto's "choice based cycle" for 2+ years, I haven't been able to secure housing unfortunately. City shelters are consistently at max capacity and there's very little hope or options available elsewhere, with Winter fast approaching.

Every dollar raised here will go toward securing affordable and stable housing. Most landlords expect a first & last month's deposit, so approximately $4000 is needed for both. Anything potentially left over will go directly toward moving costs once a home is secured and can range from $150-$350. Until housing is secured I'm currently strugglign to pay $350 for Storage, $330 for Insurance, $50-$100 for my phone and approximately $150-$250 in miscellaneous expenses (food, gas, etc.) monthly which leaves very little to live on. * One "good" thing to come from this terrible situation is the inspiration to start writing my first novel titled "40 days of Rain". Between searching for a new home, attending full-time classes and trying to survive I've managed to write the first few chapters and look forward to sharing the final product once I'm back in my feet!
