Helping Hands Family School is a small child care program located on the coast in Maine. We have outgrown our current home and we are relocating; this is both exciting and expensive. Our new space lacks something every child needs...a safe outdoor space to play, grow and learn. Your help is needed to create this outdoor classroom. With your help we hope to raise the necessary funds to build a beautiful, engaging, safe space for toddlers and preschoolers to play. Helping Hands Family School's curriculum is community based and dedicated to peace education. With the addition of a quality outdoor playspace we can continue to share with our students a familiarity with and appreciation of nature. Spending time in this thoughtfully constructed outdoor environment will build in them stewardship skills for the environment, foster their learning through self-initiation, control and personal responsiblity and allow even our youngest community members an opportunity to connect with nature and expand their world view. We can't move into our newly built school without a fenced in outdoor playspace! We have parents of current students and alumni, willing and ready to help us build a fence and climbing structure but YOUR help is desperately needed to afford the materials. We anticipate moving July 1st 2017 so we want to start construction on our new playspace as soon as possible.
We look forward to sharing with you photos of your children enjoying the new outdoor classroom that you have made possible for them!
The children, families and teachers at Helping Hands Family School thank you for your donation.
