Help Us Start Fresh After Losing Our Home & Loved One
Donation protected
Our family — Dominique, Chris, and our boys — have all made memories in this home. This place has been a part of each of our lives in the time we’ve been here. Larry, who owned the property, wasn’t just a landlord — he was family. He had been a father figure to Chris since high school, someone we loved, respected, and shared our lives with. In our time here, we’ve poured our hearts into this place — renovating the barn, building the chicken coop, planting a huge garden, caring for the house, land, and property as a whole, and even getting married here. We truly thought this would be our forever home. Last month, our lives changed forever when Larry passed away here at home. While still grieving, we learned the will he had been working on to leave us the home wasn’t finalized in time. His niece, who now controls the estate, has decided to sell. We’ve been given notice to leave by October 29th, leaving us only a few short months to find a new home and move everything. Leaving is hard enough — but moving from a 7-acre property is no small task. We have sheds, a riding mower, a chicken coop, and years of belongings, plus our two cats, our dog, and five chickens — all of whom are family and will come with us. We’ve been working hard to prepare for this move on our own — selling what we can, saving every dollar possible, and doing everything we can to raise the money ourselves — but the costs of deposits, a large moving truck, fuel, storage, and supplies are overwhelming in such a short time. We’re heartbroken to leave the home and land we’ve poured so much love and work into, but with your help, we can find a safe, stable place to start fresh and keep our family — including our animals — together. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to that new beginning. The memories we made here, and the bond we had with Larry, will stay with us always.
