Help Bring Power to Jamaica

Today, nearly one-third of Jamaica remains without power, and many families still struggle to access clean water, food, and basic necessities in the aftermath of recent storms and infrastructure damage. Many homes are still dark and waiting for help.

Hi, I’m Mark, a Jamaican American raised in Montego Bay. Recently, I received videos and messages from family living in Jamaica, ranging from my stepdad showing my childhood home flooded, and from close friends struggling to find food or access a grocery store after Hurricane Melissa. Though I had the chance to see everyone when I was married at the Grand Palladium recently, many of those same people are facing unimaginable hardship.

Seeing this impact firsthand made me realize I could no longer wait. That’s why I’ve gathered a team of friends and family in the U.S. and Jamaica to ship barrels of essential supplies directly to Montego Bay. These will include hygiene kits, lighting, cleaning supplies, tools, and most importantly, generators that can bring power back to clusters of homes.

Every gift helps us fill, ship, and track each barrel. You’ll receive photos, receipts, and updates from the ground so you’ll know exactly how your contribution changed lives.

How Your Gift Helps:

On average, it costs about $250 to ship one barrel from the U.S. to Jamaica, before adding any supplies. To keep things simple, we are budgeting around $250 for shipping and $150 for essentials in each, or about $400 total to fully pack and ship one barrel.

$10–$25: Helps purchase hygiene items, diapers, wipes, pads, and basic first-aid supplies.

$40–$75: Helps add flashlights, batteries, cleaning supplies, and small tools into a shared relief drum.

$150: Fills most of one relief drum with core essentials for a family.

$250: Covers the shipping cost of one packed relief drum from the U.S. to Jamaica.

$400: Fully funds and ships one complete relief drum (supplies plus shipping).

$800: Fully funds and ships two complete relief drums.

Our Stretch Goals:

  • Goal 1: $1,000 – Fully fund at least two complete relief drums and start a third.

  • Goal 2: $2,000 – Fully fund and ship five complete relief drums to Montego Bay communities.

  • Goal 3: $4,000 – Fully fund and ship ten complete relief drums, supporting multiple clusters of families.

  • Goal 4: $6,000+ – Fund relief drums plus generators, prioritizing homes and community spots that can safely share power.

Every dollar counts. Whether you can give $10 or $500, you are part of a real, direct impact.
Sharing this page is just as powerful, since each share helps us reach another heart willing to lend a hand.

Together, we can bring light back to Jamaica. One home, one barrel, one family at a time.
