I am raising funds for my dad who is currently fighting for his life from a serious health condition. He’s undergone back-to-back surgeries and multiple blood transfusions. Out of privacy and respect for him, I chose not to state his diagnosis.

My dad is a retired US Navy Corpsman, and my parents decided to retire in the Philippines. Along the way, he started having some health concerns, and it progressed throughout the years. Majority of the hospitals don’t cover all expenses for Veterans, so they need to pay out of pocket, and one of his medicines alone costs almost $2,000 a month. I decided to seek help for him because it truly does take a village, and I know that he deserves a village, especially with all that he has done not only for the country but for so many people. My dad is extremely selfless, and I’ve witnessed him put others first before himself. He had saved so many lives through health care and through poverty. I’ve seen him open our home to so many people who needed help, and he was always the first to lend a hand despite his own battles. With my dad’s love for God, community, and family, he had transformed numerous lives and made such a huge impact.

Today, I want to honor him and allow him to experience what it is like to have a village cheering and supporting him as he fights for his life. With me raising up two boys, a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old, financially, it’s a challenge to fully support my dad, but my heart is longing to be of help in any way I can. I am hoping to raise some funds for my dad for his hospital care, medication, and treatment needs. My dad has always been a warrior, and he continues to stay resilient through it all.
