Thank you for visiting my gofundme page! An amazing organization, BlinkNow, has accepted me as a volunteer for their annual Dashain Camp this October in Nepal.
BlinkNow is committed to educating the youth in and around their small village in rural Nepal. Most of the school's 350 students come from poor backgrounds, so the school serves as so much more than a place to learn. Students are provided a nutritious meal, basic medical and dental care, and after school activities. BlinkNow also consists of a health clinic, a women's center, and a children's home. All of this was spearheaded by one 19 year old woman, Maggie Doyne, who had a vision that in the blink of an eye, you could truly change the world. Over the past several years, I have been inspired by all of the work BlinkNow has done, and I am thrilled that I have been invited to participate with this organization! BlinkNow has been a leader in sustainable practices, empowering women, and demonstrating the importance of education to youth in their area and around the world. You can read more about the organization here: https://blinknow.org/our-story.
The camp I will be volunteering for takes place at the Kopila Valley School, and is two weeks long. I have been enlisted to teach in the Nursery program where we will play, read, create, and participate in all sorts of activities. Those of you who know me are aware of my love of working with children. I have had so much experience with this age group, and I am very excited. Because BlinkNow has limited funds, all of my travel expenses and supplies for class are my financial responsibility.
This is where I need YOUR HELP!
All the funds I raise will go towards travel expenses and supplies needed for my classes. My goal will be to source most of my supplies in Nepal so I can support their local economy. Any additional funds left over when camp has finished will be donated to the BlinkNow organization to provide food, clothing, and educational materials during the regular school year.
I will be sharing my experiences on social media, and those who are interested can follow along on my journey.
Combining my love of educating young children, and participating with this organization is truly a dream come true. Thank you for helping me make it happen!
