Dear friends, family, and community,
This is one of those moments that changes lives overnight. Flight attendants at Spirit Airlines showed up to work like they always do, ready to ensure your safety, calm your nerves during turbulence, help your kids, assist your grandparents, and make travel just a little easier.
That’s what they’ve done every single day and then without warning, it was gone. No time to prepare. No time to plan. Just like that, they were left without an income and medical insurance and forced to figure out how to survive starting the very next day.
These aren’t just “employees.”
These are people who have dedicated years to a job that demands patience, strength, and grace under pressure. The same people who are trained to handle emergencies at 35,000 feet, now facing one on the ground, with no safety net.
The reality is, this couldn’t have come at a worse time. Jobs in the industry are limited right now, hiring windows are tight, and competition is high. Meanwhile, life keeps moving. Rent is due. Car notes don’t pause. Groceries are more expensive than ever. Gas is still pushing $4 a gallon and bills don’t wait just because your paycheck stopped.
Some of these flight attendants rely on daily medications some of them life sustaining. Others had doctor’s appointments already scheduled only to find out their medical insurance ended the very next day. Over a weekend. No warning, no grace period, just an immediate loss of coverage when they needed it most.
So many of these flight attendants are doing everything right by applying, interviewing, staying hopeful but hope alone doesn’t pay bills. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
We’re trying to raise enough to give them a small cushion, something to hold them over while they fight to get back on their feet. Just a moment to breathe. A little relief during an incredibly uncertain time.
If you or someone you know have ever been helped by a flight attendant, if you’ve ever felt safer, calmer, or cared for during a flight, this is a chance to give that care back.
Every single contribution matters. No amount is too small. And if giving isn’t possible right now, simply sharing this could reach someone who can. Sometimes, it only takes a little from a lot of people to change someone’s entire situation.
Thank you for showing up for them. ❤️
With gratitude,
William Roman
