Help my mother’s neighbours feed their families

Donation protected

Dear Friends,

I would like to once again ask for your kind support and generosity to help my family relatives in Kabul to feed their families this summer. In recent months and Last year we helped a few hundred families with your contributions. However, this year things are gone from back to worse for ordinary families.

Any help and support for my mom neighbours who are mostly our relatives and are struggling big time to keep warm and put food on the table especially whilst fasting for the holy month of Ramadan.
I shall send your donations to our village where the most needy will get emergency assistance with basic supplies. £60-80 can keep a family of five feed and warm for a month.

to keep the things simple since the 18k we raised another 3k for displaced families from the earthquake back in summer. So
anything we rise above the 21k from 550 people will go towards our family neighbours to buy essential supplies for Ramadan. With thanks

It was heartbreaking to hear and wake up to this terrible news of the an earthquake in the most deprived part of the country.

A powerful earthquake has killed at least 1,000 people and injured 1,500 in eastern Afghanistan, an official of the ruling Taliban told the BBC. Please see the link below.

Hundreds of houses were destroyed by the magnitude 6.1 event, which occurred at a depth of 51km (32 miles).
It is the deadliest earthquake to strike Afghanistan in two decades. Unfortunately Afghans were struggling to end meet for their families, and now 100s of families lost everything.
Earthquake happened in rural remote areas of Khost and Paktika.
Peoples livelihood has been destroyed and I am hopping we can help a few families overcome this tragic lost and circumstances with our contributions and compassion.

This catastrophe comes as Afghanistan have been going under a severe humanitarian crisis, terrorist attacks & human rights abuses.

We request you to give what you can, we will deliver your donations to the most affected families who have lost their loved ones, homes and livelihood. My brother will visit the districts and make a list. I hope we can support 100-200 families with whatever they need the most, eg food parcels, emergency shelter, and other necessities.

And for your information the 18k raised already we have supported 350 displaced families between February and May in Kabul and Jalalabad. Any donation from June will go towards the people of Paktika province.

Please see the update on the distributions of food parcels I delivered at the end of February to families in Kabul and displacement camp in Jalalabad. Afghan faces many challenges especially of poverty and hungry. The situation is one of extreme desperation and deprivation.
it was heartbreaking to experience the suffering and pains of ordinary Afghans.
with your kind donations, we were able to help and support 150 families with food supplies for about a month at cost of £60. And another 50 families with other assistance like cloths, medical bills and helping many children/women on the street with bread and financial support, which in total I spent 12k of your generous donations. I hope we can help around 100 families during the holy month of Ramadan which start in April. The people who received the help were grateful and appreciative of you’re care, concern and compassion. And of course a huge thanks from me too.

I am requesting your help to support desperate Afghans, the whole country is going through difficult times, people who are struggling to feed their children and families.

After speaking to my mother and brother, they informed me our relatives and neighbours have been facing huge challenges to provide food and warmth for their children and loved ones. Mum said she has helped with flours, rice, oil etc but we need to help those others in our village and surrounding area, especially the elderly, the at risk, disabled and orphans.

According to the UN 80 per cent of Afghans were in ‘vulnerable’ employment before the Taliban takeover with nearly 20 per cent of those working as daily labourer's existing only on what they can earn each day. But since August the economy has collapsed. Teachers, healthcare workers, no public servants have been paid. And for the most vulnerable any employment options have disappeared. The UN says over 28 million need humanitarian assistance. And around 10 million are experiencing famine with almost million of them children. We need to act to help and support humanitarian efforts and save lives.

I would be grateful for any contribution to support my relative’s and my mother’s neighbours overcome hardship this winter. If we can support the village, it would be wonderful. Any donation, however small, is welcome and will be greatly appreciated. But £80 can help a family of 5 with a month worth of basic foodstuffs and fuel to keep warm.

A few months ago, we would have got the same monthly supplies for £50 but due to high inflation and food shortages prices have rocketed.

My aim is to help around 100 families in the neighbourhood of Butkhak in the outskirts of Kabul where many of our relatives and friends have been displaced from districts and provinces. Due to policies of GoFundMe around sending money to Afghanistan and to keep things simple and moving as people are struggling with the winter and lack of food. I will buy and provide food supplies to families in the neighbourhood. As I said of course I will provide photo evidence to all you the supporters. I hope to travel to Kabul next month and buy the necessary supplies myself with help of my brother such as flour, rice, beans, oil and tea alongside some gas or wood.

Thank you for your donation and generosity.
